SBR Chip Chase II
As luck would have it, the SBR Chip came my way again! After a few rounds of the Chip being hidden in the Gilroy area, another SBR rider, Rambler, found it, and brought the Chip to Santa Cruz. Based on her clues, I thought it was located on a bridge near the Cement Ship at Seacliff State Beach. I spent a good portion of Saturday night searching for it, with no luck. But a few other riders had looked at Natural Bridges State Beach, and came up empty-handed. Then, on Sunday morning Rambler added a new clue, and I was sure it was at Natural Bridges, and the others were just looking in the wrong spot! I decided to take a ride along West Cliff Drive.

When I arrived at Natural Bridges State Beach, sure enough, the Chip was located under the ranger station!

That afternoon, the weather was a bit breezy, but it was a sunny day, and a good day for a ride. I went north on Highway 1, and turned right onto Bonny doon Rd, to go stash the Chip.

I rode a few miles until I got to Pine Flat Rd.

From there, I searched a few of the side roads for a good spot to place the chip. This wasn’t it!

I finally came upon Kelly Lane, a remote, quasi private road.

On Kelly Lane, there was an old abandoned log cabin.

This seemed to be a good spot, and so I left the Chip in a nearby tree. It took nearly 24 hours, but it was found. The Chip has since been moved up to the East Bay, as SBR members continue the game. With two finds, I’m currently tied for third place on the leader board!
